UN SDG 2: Zero Hunger

Goal 2 aims to end hunger by 2030, addressing the sharp rise in global hunger since 2015 due to pandemics, conflicts, climate change, and inequalities. By 2022, 735 million people, or 9.2% of the global population, experienced chronic hunger, a significant increase from 2019. Additionally, 2.4 billion individuals faced moderate to severe food insecurity, highlighting a critical need for urgent, coordinated efforts to combat this escalating crisis. The fight against hunger is crucial for sustainable development, as malnutrition hampers productivity, increases disease susceptibility, and perpetuates poverty. Notably, in 2022, 2 billion lacked regular access to adequate food, and malnutrition affected 148 million children, with 45 million under-fives experiencing wasting.
